bareMinerals Radiance Powder in 'Pure' review

The Facts:

Price: £19.00

Where from: Debenhams, or any bareMinerals counter.

Colours Available: 6, Rose, Clear, Warm, Pure, Bare, Flawless

What the website says (Debenhams):
When they say youth is wasted on the young, they're definitely talking about skin. Luckily, with bareMinerals Clear Radiance, you can recapture the fresh, dewy look you had as a toddler. Clear Radiance gives your skin a soft, sheer luster that brings out your natural luminosity and takes years off your look.

I was on the hunt for a highlighter for a while when I purchased this product, I knew I wanted a powder one, but was still tempted by the likes of Benefit's Watts Up highlighter, a creamy one, or even something like the Vanilla Pigment from M.A.C! But in the end I purchased this one, after doing some research and also being tempted with the promise of 10% off!

Now I have to admit this was a bit of a rushed buy, the 10% was running out soon, and there are quite a lot of colours to choose from as well! Judging by the look of the one named 'Pure' on the website I went with that, and I'm really glad I did!

I was a little put off by the colour when it arrived, as it looked darker and more like a bronzer! However I'm actually really happy that I picked this colour, it's such  a beautiful bronze gold colour, and I genuinely think that this will be perfect for any skin tone!

I use this on my cheek bones instead of a blusher, apply it with the Real Techniques Blush Brush and it just gives the skin such a healthy, dewy finish that reflects light perfectly but also gives you this healthy bronzed glow as well! I really do think that all you need to use with this is foundation, concealer, mascara and some lipstick, no blush, no bronzer or contour powder, it pretty much does all that for you, as the light-reflecting pigments bring out your cheekbones and define the face too.

Any cons? No! Love it? Yes! Will I re-purchase? Yes!

Hope this was helpful! Let me know what you guys think!

xx

M.A.C Pro Longwear Concealer Review!

M.A.C Concealer!

The Facts:

Price: £14.50

What the website says (M.A.C) : 'A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full

coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours.

Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations.'

What I thought:

I think i purchased this concealer back in April! I had it on my little 'to get' list, but not this specific one, i just had the intention of going into M.A.C and asking to make-up artist to match me up to the concealer best suited for my skin! So that is exactly what i did! I told the make-up artist that my skin was quite dry and also that i do get quite bad dark circles when i don't get enough sleep, so i needed something moisturizing and tough!

And so she matched me up with this particular one, The M.A.C Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20! And I'm really glad she did! This is such as good concealer, it really brightens and conceals any dark circles i get under or around my eyes, and it stays on FOREVER! I have to wash this off the back of my hand in the morning after I've applied it, because it's THAT tough! Which is brilliant! The colour is great, but i think i am going to have to get a shade darker soon as i have since caught the sun and tanned up a little!

The packaging is great as well, it's a strong glass bottle with a pump dispenser, and a relatively good size too! Easy to stick in your bag, and even though it's a small bottle it doesn't mean you are going to run out of this product quickly, because you only need a small amount to cover any blemishes/bags.

My only criticism is that the amount that a single pump gives you , i find, is far too much! I always end up having some left over, and it's not the type of pump where you can control how much comes out either, it's just one standard pump, no middle option!

Apart from that i really can't fault this concealer, i love it, it's 100% worth the price and i will definitely re-purchase this product!

What do you guys think of this product? I hope this was helpful!

xx

Sleek Contour Kit Review!

The Sleek Contour Kit!

The Facts:
Contains: Blusher, Highlighter, Contour Powder.
Costs: £9.99 from Superdrug.
Finish: Both blusher and highlighter are a satin/shimmer finish, and the contour powder is a matte finish.
What the website says:
'The ultimate contour kit with a sculpting powder, highlighter and blush or bronzer in a mirrored compact.' - Superdrug.

What did i think?

I actually saw this product for the first time in one of Zoella's video's, and when i heard her raving about how much she loves this product i just had to go out and get it! Now, because the Superdrug in my town does (sadly) not have a sleek counter, i ordered this online! It meant i couldn't see the colours directly, as they do a Light, Fair and Medium contour kit, however even though i do have Olive toned skin, i just went with the 'Fair' kit, as the colours looked pretty!

When i first opened this kit i was so excited to try it out as the colours looked sooo pretty! The blush has this gorgeous shimmer to it and it's just such a pretty colour, I'd say it's a peachy pink! The packaging is really nice and sleek (hahaha) and just overall pretty, it also comes with a big mirror on the inside, so it's perfect to pop in your bag and use it to reapply any other make-up throughout the day!

In terms of quality of the product i definitely rate this highly the contour powder is really build-able and the highlighter is fantastic too, it helps to give you a really nice healthy glow! The blush is SUPER pigmented! You literally only need to dip your brush in a teeny bit to get optimal colour, which is great as it means you get A LOT of wear from this kit, but it also means you have to be careful, as one too many dips can leave you with an over-blushed face!

The powders have good staying power! I usually apply these at about 08.00am and they are still there at 3.00pm! 7 hours isn't bad at all, but if i wanted them to stay any longer i would have to re-apply them at about that time! That's just what i find though, the results will vary for all different skin types!

Here are some pictures so you can see for yourselves!

What do you guys think of this contour kit? Let me know!

My May beauty favourites!

Throughout May I have purchased some really nice products which I have loved! And so I thought I would share those with you! Here are some of my favourite things I have collected, I hope you enjoy!

The first things that I have been loving this May are the Real Techniques make-up brushes, now I have to admit that I purchased the powder and blush brush at the beginning of June, but I did have the expert face face brush all throughout May, and absolutely loved it! I went through a love/hate relationship wish brushes, sometimes I would use them all the time and never think to not use them, but then other times I would go off them and stick to using a sponge! But after I purchased the expert face brush, I just never looked back, I think this is an amazing brush and I love the way it makes foundation look flawless! I've only used the Blush Brush and the Powder Brush a few times so far, but I already love them too and use them every day! I definatly recommend these brushes!

Ps- I apologise for not including the Expert Face Brush in this picture! I had washed it and it was still drying!

The second favourite of mine is the bareMinerals Radience Powder, this has been my holy grail, go-to highlighter in May and it still is! I purchased this one in the colour Pure, and admittedly I was skeptical at first when I saw that it was more of a bronze colour as apposed to the natural lighter ones you usually see, but I love it so so much! This is absolutely perfect for the summer when you want a lovely dewy, bronze, healthy gorgeous glow! I apply this instead of a blusher!

Next up, a favourite of mine have been the Maybeline 24hr Colour Tattoo eyeshadows! I first purchased one in Pink Gold, and recently purchased another in Copper! I adore these eyeshadows, the creamy texture makes them smooth and easy to apply, and when Maybeline says 24hrs, they seriously mean it, this eyeshadow does not budge! You could seriously rub your eyes, and it would only smudge like a teeny tiny little bit, the colours are super pigmented but if you want a more subtle look you simply have to apply less! Love love love!

Onto my next one! The next item I have been loving throughout May is the M.A.C eyebrow pencil, I bought this one in the shade 'Lingering', this eyebrow pencil is designed the feel more like a crayon, for a more natural look. I have always been wary of filling in my eyebrows, but this crayon is so natural and easy to use, so no worries! You can effortlessly practically draw your own hairs on!

Now I have already spoken about this in a previous blog post, so I won't say too much! All you need to know is that I am still loving the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation, this is my holy grail foundation and will be for a while!

In May I was a little short of Mascaras! So I dug out one from 17 called Wild Curls mascara, I think I actually purchased this for really cheap a few months back from Boots, and I'm really glad I did! This mascara gives me curly lashes, without an eyelash curler, and makes them long too, I didn't notice much fall-out and it does have a great staying power!

Lastly in my May favourites are two L'Oreal lipsticks/glosses, the first is the L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Princess, which is a coral colour. I think these are brilliant! They give such a nice glossy shine without feeling too sticky, the colours are super pretty and have great lasting power! I'm really loving coral toned colours at the moment and Princess is just such a lovely colour! Secondly is the L'Oreal Studio Secrets Universal Lip Glow! This is brilliant and i was both baffled and amazed when I first found this lip glow! It adjusts to a colour depending on the heat and moisture of your lips to create a unique shade of pink, and this is genuine as me and my friends tested it and we all got different colours! I purchased this a while back, perhaps a year or so, but this month I've gotten back into it again! It's such a great everyday lipstick and the colours you can get are lovely and unique!

So those are my May favourites! I hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you had any favourites during May as well!

x
